Los Altos Hills is traversed by an 80-mile network of trails connecting its homes to some of the mid-peninsula’s most beautiful open space preserves.
Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve extends over a 4,711-acre area of soaring redwood forests on the western slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Highlights of the preserve’s natural landscape include the striking Purisima Creek Canyon. The northern part of the preserve offers unforgettable views over the Pacific coast and Half Moon Bay.
2,800-acre Portola Redwoods State Park is another captivating preserve filled with deep redwood forests. 18 miles of trails follow the meandering path of redwood-flanked creeks through the state park.
Other highlights include gorgeous waterfalls tumbling over mossy banks along the Fall and Pescadero creeks.
